Many US wineries have gotten a bit of a scare in the mail lately. The scare is not a real one however, but rather a notice sent to them addressed from the “Department of the Treasury” which has a general tendency to get the heart rate going. These letter notices are informing  wineries that they’ve submitted one (or more) of their 5120.17 reports for 2018 filing periods using the wrong version of the form.

Effective with the January 2018 report wineries are required to use the updated version of the form, titled 5120.17temp. This applies whether a winery submits this report via mail to the TTB offices in Cincinnati or uses the Pay.gov electronic filing platform.

More info on this new version of the TTB 5120.17 report in this week’s video.

Don’t use the wrong version of the TTB report!
